TOKYO KNIT is going to take on various challenges in 2021/2022, as well.

The first challenge is the collaboration work with MaXhosa Africa, the knitting wear brand in the Republic of South Africa, as one of the activities of FACE.A-J, Fashion and Culture Exchange.

Africa-Japan. FACE.A-J was mainly established by Awa'Tori whose founders are Seiko Mbako and Bukky Adejobi. Hirofumi Kurino, Senior Advisor of UNITED ARROWS LTD. / Creative Direction and a certification review member of TOKYO KNIT is a director of FACE.A-J.

In September 2021, the installation of MaXhosa Africa took place at Rooftop Park on 10F of Shibuya PARCO. MaXhosa collaborated with 6 certificated companies of TOKYO KNIT and 9 items of this collection were manufactured in Japan. African creator meets factories in Tokyo…this chemistry between the two different worlds has become an adventuresome challenge which might impact the fashion industry in a big way.
