Theme of TOKYO KNIT Project (2020 summer-2021 spring) and the exhibition to be held

Upholding the theme of “SUSTAINABLE ACTION by TOKYO KNIT”, the concept of product development for certificated companies, TOKYO KNIT Project (2020 summer – 2021 spring) will hold the exhibition and proceed with designer collaboration.


<About SUSTAINABLE ACTION by TOKYO KNIT>

Certificated companies of TOKYO KNIT brand as small and medium sized manufacturers will proceed with what they can do in order to sustain the beautiful mother planet to be handed down.

To reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) intended to be achieved by the year 2030, certificated companies of TOKYO KNIT Brand will disclose their degrees of attainment which were confirmed by self-check from 4 points of view: “products”, “factories”, “corporations” and “citizens”.

TOKYO KNIT will clarify what they can do for the world and people by gathering the efforts by each certificated company.


<About three actions (2020 summer – 2021 spring)>

1)Development of domestic and international sales channels by utilizing “JOOR” ※1

TOKYO KNIT appealed their presence to the world for the first time at PITTI UOMO (Florence, Italy) in January 2020. (Please see the report movie here.)

This time, they will utilize JOOR, the world’s biggest digital platform for wholesale management to get opportunities for certificated companies to contact with fashion buyers among more than 200,000 retail stores as it would be difficult to participate in the exposition abroad due to the problem of COVID-19.

2)The exhibition at TOKYO and REMOTEN(※2)

TOKYO KNIT will try to hold the new type of exhibition mixed by the real and the virtual. The physical exhibition at Tokyo with strict measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and the online exhibition by REMOTEN will take place simultaneously in order to get the opportunity to appeal TOKYO KNIT to many people under the circumstance of COVID-19 pandemic.

 

3)Designers to collaborate with TOKYO KNIT

Following the collaboration with ANREALAGE for 2020FW collection, TOKYO KNIT did collaboration work with ANREALAGE for 2021SS collection as well. Three designers have been already determined for collaboration work of 2021 FW collection as an action to develop domestic and international sales channels.
